"Computer models suggest that warmer-than-normal conditions will replace the wintry weather over the next week or two."
And, yet, their same computer models didn't have 'Average Temps for Whole Month of November in The Lower 48 States of 31.3 degrees Which is More than 10 degrees Below Average' on their Fall '23 Bingo Cards.
* I should note that 31.3 deg Fahrenheit is just below freeezing, slightly sub-0 degrees Celsius. If 'Journalismists were Global Coolers, the headline would read: "Average Temps sub-Zero for entire Month of November in Lower 48 States."
And the sub-head would be, "Is it time to release the carbon dioxide, peeps?"
I'm a Much Warmer, thanks. It would be perfect timing for my life cycle, not to mention my narcissism, but I hear the universe is *still* expanding, damn it (what I'd *really* like is a big bang do-over...but don't tell the Mrs. iykwim, wink, wink), so maybe I'll join you and Luke.
Another great FFSF Lillia! Thank you for the smiles on these oh so serious subjects. Our country has so many issues of our own making that we have to laugh to avoid crying.
For the next global crisis, the State can pivot back to the coming ice age. It's been a few decades since they used that one, and we Americans are still at fault.
"I mean, abandoning him to be filtered through the digestive track of the local ursine population doesn’t quite have the same poetic appeal as his losing body parts to leprosy contracted from a bat, but . . . beggars can’t be choosers." That would be too easy a death for the man. He needs to suffer, and suffer for a long, long time.
"Your average rat lives—what?—two to four years. " Unless they're in the Senate, then the average is more like 80 or 90. Oh wait, those are rats of the human variety. Actual rats probably wouldn't be any worse.
Thanks for mentioning HRC. Lil, did you see TGIF this week yet? Her comments about Hillary about made me sick. I love Nellie, but sometimes she's way over the top! I don't usually comment there, but had to when I read that part.
I saw that. I chuckled. What Ms. Bowles doesn't understand is HRC would turn on Nellie's "side" in a half a heartbeat if she thought it would benefit her. She'd be calling Hamas heroes if she thought that was the way the political wind was really blowing.
But then again she seems to be in love with Gavin Newsom, who with HRC and Kamala are in a three way race for the fakest person on the planet.
Bari Weiss and Bill Maher (and liberals like them) still think they can "save" the Democrat Party because they're still locked in that spectrum mindset and actually believe the parties are different and the Democrats are liberal rather than a political power machine with a liberal facade.
As for Nellie Bowles, I think she legitimately thinks the center is the healthy part instead of understanding the center of this thing is the rot.
No, they aren't, but most of the time it's where I get my "other" info. Every year when it's up for renewal, I consider cancelling, then don't. I've subscribed to Bari pretty much since she quit NYT. I respected her for that, and continue to, but she's too liberal to read all the time. Lots of time I just skim.
Bari Weiss et al is still transitioning from modern to classical liberalism. It's good to reward her for this by continuing your support, but Taibbi, The Federalist (among many others), and RealClearPolitics (especially for the "oppo research", not to mention the jarring juxtaposition) are the resources of our revolution, imo.

Yep. Not to offend anyone, but most 60's Leftists haven't figured out that they are on the Right today, because most of them still put Fascism on the wrong endpoint.

That right there's funny, I don't care who you are.
But, being me, in my head, I saw Graham standing on his desk in his old Air Force dress blue shirt and jacket, garters holding up his "Queers for Palestine" socks, his GI Joe in one hand, binoculars in the other screaming:

A couple more flash-lunges and I realized something was flying circles around the ceiling fan - which is centered basically on My Woman's feet in bed. I calmly explained to her that there was a bat flying over our heads. She, less than calmly, was standing in the hall screaming a mere 2.3 seconds later.
Internet said to open a window, turn off the lights, and close the bedroom door. We slept in the living room and it was gone by morning.

We keep trying with the niece. All the women in her life read (me, my sister, my mother). She has a massive vocabulary for a child her age, but reading isn't her thing. "Luke Warmer"
Didn't he play for the Boston Bruins in the 1960's?
He wasn't much of skater but he was a great enforcer.

Exactly right Patricia and no one delivers the weekly update with enough humor to keep us from crying than Lillia
Well, Don Surber's weekly recap on Saturday morning is the gold standard, with all due respect to Lillia. She's iconic in her own right.
He's absolutely wonderful at the one liner.
No prob with the freezing weather.

I'm prepping up for the Acid Ozone Bad Dates Extinction Lockdown Event.
Any. Minute. Now.
NOOOOO!
Not the Bad Dates Extinction!!
Wait...we talkin' fruit, or girlfriends?
I almost included this when I posted that, but thought it might not land:

It *has* been awhile (and several declining-in-quality sequels).

The Ursine Digestion part isn't so poetic.
But Ursine Mealtime? I'd pay to watch.

You have my bride giggling hysterically.
I'm not sure you could have given me a bigger compliment! Pi Guy for president!!!
"Pi Guy for president!!!"
*adds another tally, plans whistle stop tour*
3 (three) votes and counting, Pi!
(Uh...I assume you'll be voting...)
What - and waste my vote on _that_ clown?
Oh, you mean me. Yeah, right.
Put me down for +1 Pi

I'm voting early and often!
Also harvesting ballots, too!
Let's show those pikers how it's done!
Wait...I guess we're the pikers.
Let's show those election chicanery experts how *we* pikers do it!
"Also harvesting ballots, too!"
Fight fire with fire!
(Hey! Pi Guy is probably reading this thread, and what about *his* feelings?)
I'm *sniff* I'm not hurt. No.
I keed I keed! I love me some Patricia D getting a little salty!

I want to like the whole Bari Weiss project but she, and her staff, just aren't quite red pilled.

Yes, this, or they're caught in between, not understanding that there is a difference and actually the two are diametrically opposed.

I almost subscribed early on, and still go there regularly, but I like your "other" idea.
I had paid for an NYT Online subscription for years because it should be the Paper of Record. It just got to be too much crap to wade through.
Then I found out how to read paywalled articles: http://archive.ph/
I won't do it for Substack or other subs I pay for. I'm a capitalist. But I'm pretty well confident that NYT is a quasi-BigFedGov Op and doesn't need my support.

Capitalism (crony, i.e. Fascism (shh, it's a secret)) gives only the State what it wants.

Not as long as each opening parenthesis has a closing mate, I'm fine. But if you miss one, I'll be driven to distraction.

Only in an intellectual way. Snakes are also good at eating mice, but I will still bust through a wall to get away from one.

I actually did try that line on Mrs. Pi.
No, it did not help in the least.

The Democrats will never make sense and be reasonable, which gives me "job security," so I'm not really complaining.
We keep trying with the niece. All the women in her life read (me, my sister, my mother). She has a massive vocabulary for a child her age, but reading isn't her thing. But she will pick up a book and try, and I keep being told stories by people who didn't like to read until X point or one book caught their attention, and then they couldn't get enough. So fingers crossed . . . I think it's her generation, but I have hope she will change.
Too much fun today y'all! Gotta go work.
Thanks, Lillia.
