"He’s middle management with attitude."

Harsh but 💯% Truth.

He's not nearly Power Player he thinks he is, and never was.

Lenin referred to such actors as Useful Idiots.

And that's why it all smells like Communism.

You can tell how much power he doesn't have with the last election. He most definitely did not want Kamala, and yet I suspect he got outplayed by an ex-drug addict son and bitter wife of a human vegetable.

I suspect all of that is correct.

Just because the Dems are yelling about Epstein doesn’t make it a liability for the Reps. There could be a Trump trap in there somewhere, and the current Dem leadership is stupid and inept enough to fall into any hole in the ground, even without the palm fronds to disguise it. They might even know this and be hoping to unseat their own people. As with all things DC, you have to wait until you get home to figure out what the play was all about. And home this time might mean the midterm elections.

That's why the Democrats have to be careful. Trying to hang Epstein around Trump's neck could backfire, I agree.

Incidentally, I didn’t mean to imply that I’m some kind of Trumpster, because I’m not. But that is just how inept these Dem leaders are. And Trump did have 4 years to stew over his treatment and dream up all manner of nefarious revenge plots. But my main objection to the Epstein ploy is that—love Trump or hate him—it just doesn’t read like his kind of fantasy life. When you can grab any adult woman on the street by her whatever, why would you join an unctuous Epstein in hanging out with children? They are two distinctly different “tastes”.

Well, you never know with people, but I agree. I don't think Trump "partook." The worst someone can suggest is that he knew about Epstein but socialized with him anyway, but one would have to go back in time and find out how open a secret Epstein's lifestyle and services were.

The wife and I agree with you, we don't think Trump "partook." We theorized Trump associated with Epstein for financial reasons; a questionable loan, a shady investment scheme, something to bail him out of his multiple bankruptcies. We see the smoke but can't tell exactly where the fire is.

BTW, right now it's 91 degrees here in Texas. (Real feel: 107) Haven't hit 100 yet this summer, so a bit cooler this year than normal. Global warming is taking this year off, I guess.

We have hit 100 here in Montana, but it has been a cooler summer than normal here as well, and much wetter. I'm curious about how they're going to spin the statistics.

My biggest problem with Trump is that, for all his warts, he’s doing close to exactly what I hired him to do (Dad said the same thing about Eisenhower, incidentally, even though, as a former GI, he despised all generals on principle). I can’t think of another President in my lifetime who could say the same.

That's how I felt about him during his first term, and I'll admit some things this term I feel personally he's on the right track. It's just some very big things I think he's going wrong with.

We had thunderstorms and flooding rain roll through SE MI yesterday too. My home area did not flood. This morning there is a damp sweet after the heavy rain smell in the air. Summer in Michigan!

Sad to say, now we have a nonpartisan approach to “ they are all the same” with a lot more detail. These days, so many more of us are reading memes, seeing video clips and actually reading contrary thoughts and opinions. Transparency! Limited/ unlimited hangout? Hackers, disrupters, ne’er do wells among up, the Russians, the Chinese!?!?

Crazy weather. While we didn't get hail here, I found out after I sent the post that parts of town really got hit.

I’m not even sure what people actually want out of these investigations to be honest. If you’re a D and want Trump in jail, well we’ve seen that movie and he’s President now. If you’re an R who wants Obama in jail, well we’ve seen that movie as well. Remember “lock her up”. As you correctly point out Ratcliffe was where Gabbard is now and what happened? I imagine then, as now he was taking his orders from Bibi, same as Trump is now.

The whole Russian collusion thing was always a hoax. There were so many holes in that. Why would Putin have preferred Trump to Hillary anyway. He’s always been pretty clear in his opinion that whoever is the POTUS makes no difference. The U.S. attitude towards Russia always remains the same. You don’t have to consume any American media to know what Putin is saying. Everything is online, read it yourself. It’s really sad to see how little Americans know about the countries and peoples our leaders want to go to war with.

Summer has been a rollercoaster…90s to 60s. Seems like a little more rain than usual but that keeps the lawns green and the lakes full.

Well, I'd like some legal changes. Certain people in jail would be icing on the cake. But we're not going to get wholesale change to the law; we're going to get theater. So, in the end, I'm not sure the point if you're not really going to fix it, other than to distract us, which is insulting.

I talked to the people who rent the farm in western ND, and back in the spring, it was so dry, the person who farms the land said he didn't even know if they would plant. Now the renter says it's so wet the roots on the tomato plants are rotting. Crazy.

It’s definitely been feast or famine in the precipitation department. Lately more feast with more to come it looks like. I’d feel bad for the farmers but these days farming is just another welfare grift…not my Dad’s farmers, or mine for that matter.

It really depends on the farm and the crop. We sharecrop with a neighbor on the homestead. The programs are kind of a joke. Every now and then they get help, but the last couple times it’s been because of the tariffs, not the weather, which is what has the most effect. Most farmers I know now have side hustles and their wives work. You can’t actually raise a family on just farming alone anymore.
